How to apply OLI-AQUA NORDIC B

Preparation: The surface must be dry, clean, sound, and free of oil, wax, grease, and silicone. Sand off unsound old coatings and grayed wood. Sand wood with P150–180 and remove dust thoroughly. Wood moisture content: 8–12 %.

Primer if needed: On raw MDF, especially on edges and milled profiles, apply a primer coat of the water-based OLI-AQUA 15.88 I 1K Insulating Filler It also helps isolate the wood extractives in tannin-rich woods.

Material preparation: Stir the lacquer thoroughly. Optimum application conditions: +20 °C and 50% relative humidity. Do not apply below +15 °C .

Optional with Hardener: For increased chemical and mechanical resistance, thoroughly mix in 10% OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 . Mixing ratio by volume: 10 parts lacquer : 1 part Hardener. Allow to stand for 10 minutes before application. Pot life: 3 hours.

Application: Apply the lacquer evenly in the direction of the grain using a brush, roller, or spray gun. After approx. 1.5 hours , sand lightly with P220–280 and remove dust thoroughly. Then apply the second coat.

Coverage: Two coats. Approx. 80–100 g/m²when brushing and approx. 100–120 g/m² when spraying, per coat. Coverage: approx. 10–12 m²/l when brushing and 8–10 m²/l when spraying.

Drying: Dust-dry after approx. 45 minutes; ready to sand and recoat after approx. 1.5 hours, stackable after approx. 16 hours. Low temperatures, high humidity, and poor air circulation extend drying time.

Tool cleaning: Clean tools with water immediately after use.

Storage & shelf life: At least 24 months in the unopened original container. Store in a cool, dry, frost-free place at +5 to +30 °C . Reseal opened containers tightly to prevent skin formation.

How do I clean surfaces painted with OLI-AQUA NORDIC B?

Use a soft, slightly damp cloth and, if needed, a mild cleaning agent. Wipe dry afterward. Do not scrub or polish the ultra-matte surface.

NORDIC B is available in 14 ultra-matte standard RAL color shades. The color shades can be mixed with one another. Additional RAL color shades can be ordered by commercial customers.

Do the displayed colors of OLI-AQUA NORDIC B provide an exact color match?

Screen colors are for guidance only. The RAL Classic color fan shows the reference color shade, but not the ultra-matte finish. A test application shows the effect on your substrate.
