OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 for furniture, stair, color, and parquet lacquers
OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 is the hardener component for the OLI-AQUA water-based lacquers listed below. It allows them to be applied as a two-component system and increases the surface’s mechanical and chemical resistance. Using one hardener for different coating systems simplifies product selection and inventory management in joinery, interior finishing, and parquet installation.

Mixing ratio and required hardener quantity
The mixing ratio is 10 parts lacquer : 1 part hardener. The following amounts are required for each quantity of lacquer:
-
1 liter of lacquer: 100 ml of hardener
-
2.5 liters of lacquer: 250 ml of hardener
-
5 liters of lacquer: 500 ml of hardener
-
10 liters of lacquer: 2 × 500 ml of hardener
Thoroughly mix in OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 immediately before application. Pot life begins once the hardener has been added. Only mix as much material as can be applied within this time. Mixing instructions, any required maturation time, and application time are specified in the technical data sheet for the relevant lacquer.
Order to match your coating system
For MODU T and NORDIC clear lacquers, MODU B and NORDIC B color lacquers, and STANDARD parquet lacquer, order the hardener separately for optional two-component application.
For TOP and AUTHENTIC two-component parquet lacquers, check the contents of the selected package to avoid ordering hardener that is already included.
Mixing: Add OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 to the base lacquer immediately before application while stirring, and mix thoroughly until the mixture is homogeneous. The mixing ratio is 10 parts base lacquer : 1 part Hardener. Mix only the amount required.
Resting time: Before application, allow the mixture to rest for approx. 10 minutes.
Application: The pot life is a maximum of 3 hours for OLI-AQUA NORDIC and NORDIC B, and a maximum of 3–4 hoursfor the other system products listed. Follow the product-specific instructions in the base lacquer’s technical data sheet. The end of the pot life is not indicated by a change in viscosity. Do not apply below +15 °C . Substrate preparation, application and drying depend on the respective base lacquer.
Thinning: When applying with a cup gun, thin the ready-mixed lacquer-hardener mixture with a maximum of 5% water . Do not thin the Hardener separately with water.
Cleaning equipment: Clean tools immediately after use with cold water . Dispose of cleaning residues properly.
Important: Do not allow mixed lacquer residues to cure in sealed containers, and do not pour them back into the original container. Protect the Hardener from moisture and seal the container tightly immediately after each use. Refer to the current safety data sheets for the base lacquer and Hardener.

Which lacquers is OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 suitable for?
OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 is suitable for 2-component application with the following OLI-AQUA lacquers:
Clear lacquers for furniture and stairs:
- OLI-AQUA MODU T 18.32
- OLI-AQUA NORDIC 18.40
color lacquers for furniture and interior fittings:
- OLI-AQUA MODU B 18.35
- OLI-AQUA NORDIC B 18.45
parquet lacquers:
- OLI-AQUA STANDARD 15.50
- OLI-AQUA TOP 51.20
- OLI-AQUA AUTHENTIC 51.30
Use the Hardener only with the base lacquers approved for it. Refer to the latest technical data sheet for the respective lacquer.
Is adding hardener optional or required?
For MODU T, MODU B, NORDIC, NORDIC B and STANDARD adding hardener is optional. These lacquers can be applied as ready-to-use 1-component lacquers or as a 2-component system with OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2.
For TOP and AUTHENTIC require the addition of hardener for application.
What does adding hardener do?
OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 increases the chemical and mechanical resistance of the lacquer surface through additional cross-linking. This makes optional 2-component application suitable for uses with higher durability requirements. Approved uses depend on the respective lacquer.
Why can't I find all compatible lacquers in the shop?
The product range differs between the consumer and business customer shops. The consumer shop currently offers OLI-AQUA NORDIC and NORDIC B Other compatible lacquers for furniture, stairs, color lacquers and parquet lacquers are part of the business customer shop's product range.
The technical suitability of OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 applies regardless of which shop offers the approved lacquer.
Do I need to order the Hardener separately?
For optional 2K application of MODU T, MODU B, NORDIC, NORDIC B and STANDARD OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 must be ordered separately.
For TOP and AUTHENTIC Check the contents of the selected container: any Hardener already included does not need to be ordered separately.
How much Hardener do I need to add?
The mixing ratio is 10 parts lacquer to 1 part Hardener. The amount of hardener is based on the quantity of unmixed base lacquer.
- 100 ml Hardener for 1 liter lacquer
- 250 ml Hardener for 2.5 liters lacquer
- 500 ml Hardener for 5 liters lacquer
- 2 × 500 ml Hardener for 10 liters lacquer
Follow the mixing ratio precisely and observe the application instructions for the lacquer in question.
Can I also mix smaller quantities?
Yes. The mixing ratio 10 parts lacquer to 1 part Hardeneralso applies to partial quantities. For 1 liter of lacquer, you need 100 ml of Hardener.
Measure the quantities precisely using a suitable measuring container. Only mix as much material as can be applied within the stated pot life.
How do I mix OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 correctly?
Stir or shake the base lacquer thoroughly according to its Technical Data Sheet. Then add the measured amount of hardener and mix thoroughly until homogeneous.
Refer to the Technical Data Sheet for the lacquer in question for the required mixing procedure and any necessary waiting times before application. The pot life starts when the hardener is added.
How long can I use the mixed lacquer?
For For OLI-AQUA NORDIC and NORDIC B, the pot life is no more than 3 hours. For the other approved lacquers, the processing time specified in the relevant Technical Data Sheet applies.
Do not use the mixture after the pot life has expired. Even if the lacquer still appears liquid, the pot life may already have expired.
Can I continue using mixed 2K lacquer the next day?
Nein.
Does adding more Hardener make the surface even more resistant?
Eine höhere Härterzugabe ist nicht vorgesehen. Das vorgeschriebene Mischungsverhältnis von 10 parts lacquer to 1 part Hardener must be observed.
Accurate measuring, thorough mixing, and application within the specified pot life are essential for the desired result.
Is additional diisocyanate training required?
OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 contains less than 0.1% diisocyanate monomers and is therefore not subject to the corresponding REACH training requirement for diisocyanates. The prescribed protective measures and the information in the current safety data sheet must still be observed.
How should I store OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2?
Store the Hardener in a cool, dry place protected from frost at +5 °C to +30 °C Protect from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
When unopened and stored in its original container, the shelf life is 6 months. Reseal opened containers tightly immediately after each use. These storage instructions apply to unmixed Hardener; the specified pot life applies to lacquer that has already been mixed.
