Fill small gaps. Create a harmonious wood appearance.
OLI-AQUA FIX FILL is a water-based joint filler solution to be mixed with clean, fine wood sanding dust. The resulting filler closes small gaps up to approx. 2 mm and repairs minor imperfections in sanded parquet and wood surfaces.
Sanding dust from the respective wood species helps achieve a harmonious color match. The filler adheres well in narrow gaps, has good filling power, and shrinks very little as it dries. Short drying times and excellent sandability allow for quick further processing.
Areas of use: For filling sanded parquet and wood floors before final sanding and surface treatment.
System use: Once fully dry and sanded, it can be further treated with suitable OLI-AQUA parquet lacquers or OLI-NATURA oil systems.
FIX FILL is not an elastic gap sealant. Wood movement can cause gaps to reappear.
TESTING STANDARDS
- Giscode W1
- EU Decopaint compliant
Prepare the substrate
The substrate must be dry, sound, properly sanded, and free of old coatings, oil, grease, wax, silicone, and care product residues.
Sand the floor in stages up to 100 grit. Save clean, fine sanding dust from the wood to be filled for mixing, and thoroughly remove dust from the surface. Only carry out the final sanding after filling.
Test an inconspicuous area when working with unfamiliar woods or woods rich in natural constituents. Exotic wood species can significantly delay drying.
Mix the filler
Stir or shake OLI-AQUA FIX FILL well before use. Mix with clean wood sanding dust to form a homogeneous compound that is easy to apply with a filling knife.
Avoid mixtures that are too dry: they may only close joints at the surface without filling them sufficiently deep.
Fill the joints
Use a rustproof stainless steel filling knife to apply the compound across the entire surface or directly into the joints. Fill the joints completely and sufficiently deep. If necessary, repeat the filling after it has dried.
Allow to dry and sand
Under favorable conditions, ready to sand after approx. 45 minutes. The actual drying time depends on the joint filling and room climate. Low temperatures, high humidity, and deep joints extend the drying time.
Once sufficiently dry, sand off all filler remaining on the surface, carry out the final sanding, and vacuum thoroughly.
Apply the surface finish
Treat the prepared surface with a suitable OLI-AQUA parquet lacquer or OLI-NATURA oil system. If a primer is required, and for the subsequent coating system, follow the technical data sheet for the selected surface product.
Joint filling is not a final coating.
Coverage and application conditions
Coverage depends on the width, depth, and number of joints.
Optimal conditions: approx. +20 °C and 50% relative humidity. Do not apply at floor temperatures below +15 °C. Material temperature should preferably be +18 to +25 °C, relative humidity 40–75%, and wood moisture content no more than 12%.
Application tool: rustproof stainless steel filling knife. Clean tools with water immediately after use.
Refer to the current technical data sheet and safety data sheet.
