OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil - one coat. Plenty of working time.
Parquet, stairs, furniture or worktops: OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil protects indoor wood with just one coat. The colorless, solvent-free high-solid oil enhances the natural wood tone and highlights the grain. Depending on the type of wood, sanding and absorbency, one liter covers approximately 25-50 m².
Up to 90 minutes of open time give you more control during application and make it easier to work without visible overlaps, even on large surfaces - by hand or machine. This leaves enough room for touch-ups and subsequent polishing. You can apply the oil directly without Hardener or use OLI NATURA® Hardener to increase resistance and accelerate curing. For this, 10 parts oil to 1 part Hardener are sufficient.
Which types of wood and applications is OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil suitable for?
For untreated or freshly sanded wood surfaces and absorbent wood-based materials indoors. On wooden floors and stairs, slip resistance is also important: R10 tested on sanded oak - without and with Hardener. Also suitable for bathroom furniture and wood surfaces with epoxy resin. Here, we recommend OLI NATURA® Hardener for increased resistance. Proven on roller coating machines: used for years for factory oil treatment of parquet and absorbent wood-based materials.
How does OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil change the appearance and feel of the wood?
NATUR is unpigmented and intensifies the wood's natural color: The wood tone gains depth and the grain becomes more prominent. The surface remains matte, while the wood structure remains perceptible. Light-colored woods may appear darker and warmer. For colored surfaces, choose OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil COLOUR. Tip: Test on wood prepared in the same way and assess the result after drying.
How easy is OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil to apply?
Apply thinly. Work in. Polish. By hand or machine - the long open time gives you room to work the oil in carefully and makes it easier to achieve an even result without visible overlaps, even on large surfaces. When applied correctly, one coat is sufficient to saturate and protect the wood.
Without Hardener, the impregnating oil is ready to use immediately. With OLI NATURA® Hardener, you accelerate curing and increase resistance - ideal for walkable wooden surfaces and heavily used areas that need to be put back into use quickly. For 2K application, 10 parts oil to 1 part Hardener are sufficient.

Applying HS Professional Oil NATUR: Oiling furniture, worktops, stairs and floors
Preparation: The wood must be clean, dry and absorbent. Remove old film-forming coatings. Do not sand floors and stairs finer than P100–120, or furniture and worktops finer than P180. Remove all dust thoroughly. If necessary, pre-treat with diluted OLI NATURA® PreOilCleaner Allow to dry completely before oiling, smooth raised wood fibres if necessary and remove dust again. Do not use PreOilCleaner before OLI NATURA® Antique.
Tip: Apply a test coat to similarly prepared wood and assess the colour effect after drying.
Optional with hardener: Mix 10 parts oil with 1 part OLI NATURA® Hardener thoroughly and use immediately. Pot life: approx. 2–3 hours. Mix only the amount required.
Furniture, stairs and worktops: Stir the oil thoroughly, apply thinly and work it in with a beige pad. Allow it to penetrate for approx. 30–60 minutes. Re-oil rapidly absorbing areas if necessary. Remove excess and polish with a white pad until the surface feels dry to the touch.
Floors: Work in sections of 10–15 m². Apply the oil thinly with a short-pile roller or squeegee and work it in with a beige pad within 60–90 minutes. Re-oil rapidly absorbing areas if necessary. Remove excess and polish with a white pad until the surface feels dry to the touch. Do not leave any excess oil on the surface.
Coverage: One coat; approx. 20–40 ml/m² (25–50 m²/l), depending on the type of wood, sanding and absorbency.
Drying: Dust-dry after approx. 1–2 hours, cautiously walkable after approx. 24 hours and fully cured after approx. 5–7 days. With hardener, the surface cures faster. Protect from water and heavy use and do not clean with a damp cloth until fully cured.
Application conditions: The material, wood and surroundings must be between +15 and +25 °C during application. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.
Safety – Risk of spontaneous combustion: After use, completely soak oil-soaked cloths and pads in water and then spread them out to dry outdoors. Avoid heat accumulation.
Further information: Before application, observe the Technical Data Sheet in the “Downloads” section.
The oiled wood surface retains its natural charm when it is regularly cleaned and cared for. Dust and dirt can easily be removed with a dry or slightly damp cloth - please never wipe wet. Parquet should be vacuumed or swept daily, as sand and dust can cause fine scratches.
For gentle cleaning, the concentrated OLI-NATURA wood soapis recommended; it gently removes dirt without stressing the wood. To renew the protection, the surface can be regularly refreshed with OLI-NATURA wood care oil or the OLI-NATURA wood refresher .
How often the surface should be re-oiled depends on the type of wood, use, and level of wear. Noticeable signs include reduced water resistance or a dry, dull surface - then it is time for a refresh.
The product is not subject to labeling requirements. The mixture is not classified as hazardous within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. It must not be labeled with GHS hazard pictograms or signal words and does not constitute dangerous goods.
Oil-soaked rags/pads can spontaneously ignite due to heat buildup! Therefore, clean them immediately after use or store them under water. Keep out of reach of children. P102 Keep out of reach of children.
What distinguishes HS Professional Oil NATUR?
HS Professional Oil has 100% solids content: It contains no solvent that evaporates during drying. The oil absorbed by the wood remains in the wood structure and cures there. When properly applied, this generally allows the wood to be saturated and protected with just one coat.
What does HS Professional Oil do to wood?
As an impregnating oil, HS Professional Oil penetrates the wood structure and cures there through oxidation. This makes it more difficult for water and dirt to penetrate. The wood structure is preserved; when protection diminishes, the oiled surface can be refreshed.
Which surfaces is HS Professional Oil suitable for?
For untreated or freshly sanded wood and absorbent wood-based materials indoors, such as floors, stairs, furniture, tables, and worktops.
Which oil is right: HS Professional Oil NATUR or Colour HS Professional Oil?
NATUR is unpigmented and enhances the natural tone of the wood. COLOUR contains pigments, colors the wood transparently, and leaves the grain visible. Test the color effect on similarly prepared wood and assess it after drying.
Is a surface treated with HS Professional Oil waterproof?
No. After fully curing, it is water-repellent but not waterproof. Absorb liquids promptly and avoid standing water.
What conditions must the wood meet before oiling?
It must be clean, dry, absorbent, and free of grease, wax, and other separating substances. Sand the wood evenly and remove dust thoroughly. The permissible wood moisture content is 8–12 %.
Can I apply HS Professional Oil to varnished or previously oiled wood?
Remove film-forming old coatings completely so that the oil can penetrate the wood. Check previously oiled surfaces for compatibility and sufficient absorbency; if necessary, sand them down to bare wood.
What final sanding grit is correct for HS Professional Oil?
For floors and stairs, do not sand finer than P100–120; for furniture surfaces, do not sand finer than P180 . An even sanding finish is especially important for the color effect of COLOUR. Then remove dust thoroughly.
How is HS Professional Oil applied?
Apply the oil thinly and evenly and work it into the woodwith a beige pad. After the reaction time, remove excess oil and polish with a white pad until the surface feels dry to the touch. Do not leave excess oil on the surface.
Can I apply HS Professional Oil by hand?
Yes. Smaller areas can be worked with hand pads. On larger areas, the oil can be worked in and polished mechanically; on floors, use a single-disc machine.
What advantage does the long open time of HS Professional Oil offer?
The oil remains workable for longer after application. This allows even larger floor sections to be oiled evenly, touched up at absorbent areas if necessary, and then carefully polished. This provides greater security during application and helps prevent visible overlaps.
Can I apply HS Professional Oil with hardener?
Yes. Mix 10 parts oil with 1 part OLI NATURA® Hardener thoroughly and use immediately. The hardener accelerates curing and increases resistance; with COLOUR, it also improves pigment binding. The pot life is approximately 2–3 hoursfor NATUR and approximately 1–2 hours.
for colored variants.
What should I do if I have applied significantly too much oil and it is still wet? If a lot of oil remains on the surface after the absorption time, remove the excess sharply with a foam rubber squeegeebefore polishing. Then polish with a white pad until the surface feels dry to the touch and no excess oil is visible.
Why does the oiled surface remain sticky or dry only slowly?
There is often still too much oil on the surface. Low temperatures, high humidity, and low air circulation also delay drying. Polish off all excess oil completely. The material, wood, and surroundings should be at +15 to +25 °C during application; ensure air circulation while drying.
When can I walk on an oiled floor again?
Without hardener, the surface can be walked on carefully after approximately 24 hours and is fully cured after approximately 5–7 days. With hardener, it cures faster. Protect it from water and heavy use until fully cured.
When can I clean the surface with a damp cloth?
Only after it has fully cured. After that, clean as needed with OLI NATURA® wood soap using a slightly damp cloth.
When should the surface be refreshed?
When protection starts to diminish, not according to a fixed schedule. Clean the surface first and allow it to dry completely. For refreshing, use the care product specified in the relevant Technical Data Sheet. If the color shade is also to be renewed with COLOUR, follow the separate application instructions in the data sheet.
Do I need to sand before re-oiling?
Not necessarily. When refreshing an intact, oiled surface, thorough cleaning is the first priority. Sanding may be necessary in the case of damage, stains, or troublesome care-product residues. The condition of the surface is decisive.
What should I bear in mind when handling oil-soaked cloths and pads?
They can self-ignite. After use, soak them completely in water and then spread them out to dry outdoors. Avoid heat buildup.
